Mel Gibson Set to Direct Mark Wahlberg in Lionsgate's Suspense-Thriller FLIGHT RISK

Mel Gibson is jumping back into directing with a new film project set up at Lionsgate titled Flight Risk. Mark Wahlberg is set to star in the movie as a pilot who is tasked with transporting a dangerous criminal for trial.

This will be the first film Gibson has helmed since the 2016 WWII movie Hacksaw Ridge, which was a great film! I like the movies that Gibson directs, and I’m surprised he hasn’t been directing more. So, it’s good to see him get back behind the camera.

The announcement came from Joe Drake, chair, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group saying: “We love the undeniable electric pairing of Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg. These world-class talents combining for this dynamic, character-driven film will make Flight Risk one of the most suspense-filled, must-see events of the year.”

Wahlberg recently completed filming on Netflix’s The Union with Halle Berry. Gibson’s next high-profile project is the Peacock series The Continental, which is set in the world of John Wick.
