Melissa Joan Hart is Working on a Reboot of CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL
Clarissa Explains It All was a teen sitcom from the early ‘90s that featured Nickelodeon’s first female lead. It ran for five seasons and starred Melissa Joan Hart as the titular Clarissa who would break the fourth wall to talk to her audience while dealing with the problems in her teenage life.
Well, according to THR, Hart is wanting to pick the series back up and is working on a reboot for Nickelodeon. While the deal is not finalized, it appears that the original creator, Mitchell Kriegman, is potentially coming onboard as a writer and executive producer.
I feel like it's always nice when a reboot can bring their original creators back on board. The reboot would feature Clarissa (played by Hart) as a mom. It’s important to note that this is not a done deal. While I’m sick of people making more and more reboots (they’re easy marketing), it’s refreshing to hear about one that’s not for The CW.
