A few weeks ago a rumor started spreading on the internet that Aladdin star Mena Massoud might be playing the live-action version of Ezra Bridger for Lucasfilm’s Star Wars franchise. It’s believed that the character will first show up in the upcoming Ahsoka series.

Massoud recently shared a post on Instagram that seemingly teases taking on the role. He shared a shirtless photo of himself with a quote that reads, "Hey, just so you know, when I escape I won't hurt any of you."

This line is from Rebels Season 2 from the episode titled “Stealth Strike”. Ezra delivers this line to a group of Stormtroopers after he has been captured by the Empire.

This is no confirmation that the actor has actually been cast in the role, and if he hasn’t been cast, he’s certainly campaigning for it.

I like the idea of Massoud in the role of Bridger, he’s a great fit to bring the character to life. It seems like a lot of fans would like to see this casting happen, but we’ll just have to wait and see how things play out.
