Michael B. Jordan Set To Star in and Direct New THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR For Amazon MGM Studios
Michael B. Jordan has signed on to star in and direct a new Thomas Crown Affair movie, which is set up at Amazon MGM Studios.
This will be the third Thomas Crown Affair movie to be made. There’s the original 1968 movie that starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway and the 1999 version, which stars Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.
The story follows Thomas Crown, a wealthy and charismatic businessman who masterminds the theft of a priceless painting from a New York City museum purely for the thrill of it.
His perfect crime catches the attention of Catherine Banning, a sharp and determined insurance investigator hired to recover the stolen artwork.
As she begins her pursuit of Crown, their game of cat and mouse becomes increasingly complicated by their growing attraction to one another.
The story weaves through a series of clever twists and high-stakes deception, ultimately blurring the lines between pursuit and romance, as both characters try to outwit each other while questioning their true motives.
Drew Pearce wrote the script and a previous draft was written by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson, which was based on the original film.
This is one of those stories that I really have no interest in seeing remade again. But, maybe there are other fans out there that are like, “Yes! Please give us another Thomas Crown Affair movie!
Regardless, Jordan is a talented actor and director and I’m sure he’ll make a good movie.
