Michael Douglas Says The Quantum Realm Plays an Important Role in All The Next Chapters of the MCU
We already know that the Quantum Realm will play a big role in Avengers 4. That was a big set-up in the post-credits scene in Ant-Man and The Wasp. But, it seems that the mysterious Quantum Realm is also going to be “the key” to the future of the the MCU as a whole.
During an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Michael Douglas, who plays Hank Pym in the MCU, is asked if the scene at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp was directly involved in Avengers 4. That’s when he revealed that it’s so much bigger than that:
“Right. Right. That is absolutely true. I mean, all of them — I mean, the Quantum Realm, that’s the key. That’s the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.”
As you know, Ant-Man and the Wasp ended with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) stranded in the Quantum Realm when he ventured inside to retrieve some quantum energy. While he was in there, Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), Hope (Evangeline Lilly) and Pym all disintegrated into dust.
Of course, right before Lang entered the Quantum Realm, Janet warned him to watch out for the “time vortexes,” which are sure to play a big role in when happens in Avengers 4. The question is, how with this all effect the future films of the MCU? Who knows what else the Quantum Realm is capable of. Will it split open alternate universes and realities that the future films could be set in? Douglas went on to say:
“It’s a whole other world, it’s a whole other language and world, the Marvel comics world. You gotta take a course in it, Ryan.”
It’s going to be really interesting to see how the Quantum Realm ends up impacting the future of the MCU. How do you think it will affect it? Avengers 4 opens May 3rd.
