Michael Douglas Wants an ANT-MAN Prequel Film That Focuses on The Adventures of a Younger Hank Pym
One of the things that I like about Marvel's Ant-Man franchise in the history that it has explored with the older characters like Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). They just have such a fascinating background story and there are so many past adventures involving these two characters and others like Goliath (Lawrence Fishburne) who is being introduced in Ant-Man and The Wasp.
While talking with Screen Rant, Douglas talked about the possibility of reprising his role again and says that he would like to see a prequel film that focuses on a younger version of Hank Pym as Ant-Man.
"I'd like to see him, if there's magic, we do movie magic in terms of flashbacks. How about getting Hank back to his prime age as the Original Ant-Man and kick some serious ass?"
It's not like Marvel couldn't pull it off. They've done some great things with digitally de-aging characters and it would be super cool to see them do that for a full movie with young versions of Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Lawrence Fishburne. Douglas continued and explained that he would need a stunt double:
"I'm ready. I'm geared. I need a good stunt double. You know, I'll find him, but now you can make me look 40 years younger let's do the whole job!"
There are a lot of great adventurous Ant-Man stories to tell involving Hank Pym and it would be amazing if Marvel actually developed something like this. I hope that this would be something that Marvel Studios would at least consider. Would you like to see an Ant-Man prequel film?
Ant-Man and The Wasp will be released on July 6th.
