Michael Keaton in Talks to Join McDonalds Movie THE FOUNDER
Back in December it was announced that a movie would be involving McDonalds called The Founder. It will revolve around the dark drama of the fast food chain's early beginning. Saving Mr. Banks director John Lee Hancock is going to direct the film, and Michael Keaton is now in talks to star in it. I freakin' love Michael Keaton!
"The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself in a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire."
According to THR, Keaton was offered the role of Ray Kroc earlier this week. I’m so happy to see the actor being offered more big movie roles! I knew Birdman was going to reinvigorate his career! The actor is also in talks to join Legendary Pictures’ Kong: Skull Island.
The script was written by Robert Siegel (Big Fan), and the tone has been described as being like The Social Network and There Will Be Blood. I’m intrigued by stories that revolve around business, and a film about the biggest fast food company in the world is sure to make for a great one.
