Michael Keaton Says Putting His Batman Suit on for THE FLASH Was "Shockingly Normal"

One of the most exciting things about DC’s The Flash movie is that Michael Keaton is set to reprise his role as Batman in the movie. That alone is one of the only reasons that I care about seeing the movie. I’ve always loved Keaton’s version of Batman, and the fact that he is playing the character again after all these years is incredibly exciting! I never thought it would ever happen!

Keaton recently sat down for an interview with Good Day Chicago's Jake Hamilton, and during that interview, Keaton opened up about returning to the role and putting on his Batman costume. He shared:

“It was shockingly normal. It was weird. Like I went ‘Oh, oh yeah, that’s right’. But also then you start to play the scenes and a lot of memories, a lot of interesting sense memories start to come back.”

The interviewer went on to make a comment about the sense memories being like muscle memory, to which Keaton replied, “yeah.”

Keaton was also asked about the iconic line, “I’m Batman,” and if he’s said it yet while shooting. As you might expect, he wouldn’t confirm, but I’m sure that he will. He also says he hasn’t talked to Tim Burton yet about him coming back to the role of Batman. When asked about that he said:

"No, but just because we haven't because we've got other stuff to talk about."

The movie also stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Kiersey Clemons is playing Iris West, and Ron Livingston and Maribel Verdú are playing Barry’s parents. Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) and internet personality Rudy Mancuso have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

This movie is going to break open the DC multiverse, and the director previously teased "all that you've seen exists." The Flash will see Barry Allen "breaking the bonds of physics to crash into various parallel dimensions, where he’ll encounter slightly different versions of DC’s classic heroes."

The Flash is being written by Christina Hodson, and it’s set to hit theaters on November 4, 2022.
