Michael Keaton and Dylan O'Brien Hunt Down Taylor Kitsch in New Trailer For AMERICAN ASSASSIN
I'm actually pretty excited for this upcoming action thriller American Assassin. It just looks like a good solid movie and it has a great cast that includes Michael Keaton, Dylan O'Brien, and Taylor Kitsch. I like that Kitsch is playing a villain in the film who's being hunted down by Keaton and O'Brein. I've always liked Kitsch as an actor, he just went through a string of bad movies that didn't help his career. This doesn't look like it will be a bad movie, though. It also looks like another great role for Keaton! It just looks like an entertianing and thrilling action movie!
The movie is based on a series of books that is set in the world of counter-terrorism and focuses on an operative named Mitch Rapp. There are 15 books in the series, so if this movie does well, you can bet we'll see more of them.
AMERICAN ASSASSIN follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien), a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair are then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.
The movie was directed by Michael Cuesta (Kill The Messenger, Homeland, L.I.E.) from a screenplay by Stephen Schiff, Michael Finch, Edward Zwick, and Marshall Herskovitz. American Assassin opens in theaters on September 15, 2017.
