Michael Sheen Will Play a Serial Killer in a New TV Series Called PRODIGAL SON
Michael Sheen (Underworld, Good Omens, Frost/Nixon) is set to star in a new series pilot for FOX called Prodigal Son. He will be playing a serial killer in the show, which seems like a great role for him to take on! Sheen is a great actor that will easily be able to pull off a sadistic serial killer.
The one-hour series will center on Malcolm Bright, “an acclaimed criminal psychologist. He knows how killers think, how their minds work. Why? His father (Sheen) was one of the worst — a notorious serial killer called ‘The Surgeon.’ He will use his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses.”
Sheen will take on the role of Martin Whitly, “Malcolm Bright’s intelligent, wealthy, charismatic father who also happens to be a predatory sociopath that murdered more than 20 people. Martin was once a devoted family man and successful cardiothoracic surgeon with high-profile patients.”
I enjoy dark and demented stories like this and this is a series that I’m definitely on board with, and I’ll be checking it out.
Prodigal Son is being developed by writers and executive producers Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver. They recently created the FBI magician drama Deception for ABC. Sheen will join the previously announced cast of Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau, and Frank Harts.
