Micheal C. Hall is Open To Returning To For a DEXTER Revival and Discusses The Series Finale

it’s been over five years since Dexter came to an end. Some fans were happy with the ending while other’s felt like they were left hanging and didn’t care for it.

Micheal C. Hall stands by the ending, but that doesn’t mean he’s not open to returning to the role in a revival. He has the never say never attitude regarding a possible return and in a recent interview with The Daily Beast he said:

“Every time I’m asked about this I say, ‘never say never.’ The next thing I know there’s an announcement on the internet saying ‘he’s going to do it again.’ The way that show ended gave no sense of closure for people and a lot of questions unanswered. He seems to be in this self-imposed exile, he certainly didn’t ride off into the sunset. His sister died. It left a gnarly knot in some viewers’ stomachs. I stand by how that 8th season ended.”

Hall went on to explain how the ending for Dexter worked for the character and why it made sense to him:

"He has a real connection to people, and all those people are compromised or destroyed in some way. For it to be all tidied up after that would have not been honest. For him to simulate his own death and extricate himself from the context of his life made sense to me. As far as any more of that happening, it’s possible.”

The actor goes on to admit that there have been ideas tossed around, but there’s been nothing that has sparked his interest:

“There have been different possibilities that have come up. They haven’t felt worth doing. But there’s still something potentially there. But there are no immediate plans to do that.”

If the right idea for a revival comes up, it sounds like Hall would be open to developing it. But, as of right now nothing is happening. I’d be interested in seeing a revival series because I’d like to see what has happened to the character over time. But, if it doesn’t happen, I’m fine with that as well.

Would you like to see a Dexter revival? If so, how would you like to see the story of Dexter continue?
