Michelle Rodriguez to Return to FAST AND FURIOUS 9 After Producers Agree to Hire Female Writer

Michelle Rodriguez is now reportedly back on board to film the upcoming Fast and Furious film after previously saying that she was out unless they hired a female writer for the next film in the franchise. Here’s what Rodriguez had to say about her stance:

“I felt like there was not enough of a female voice in the franchise,” Rodriguez shared at the Bloomberg Future of Equality Summit in London. “You should evolve with the times, not just pander to certain demographics that are stuck in the past.”

She went on to give some insight into her mindset:

"My energy is completely directed toward the feminine right now and supporting women. I’ve spent most of my life shooting guns, and hanging out with the boys, and watching them scratch their balls, and smelling protein-mixed farts. And now I’m feeling the poetry and the beauty and the sensuality of women, and the power we bring together. So they need to show more love to the women. I don’t know which direction it’s going to go. But I know that I’m headed in that direction. We’ll see if that all matches.”

Yeah, I don’t know how much femininity can be brought to the Fast and Furious films, but bless her heart for trying. At least one more female writer has a job thanks to her.

Are you glad to see Rodriguez back in the next movie? Do you still like the Fast and Furious movies? Let us know what you think.
