Michelle Williams Confirms She'll Be Back for VENOM 2

It was recently announced that Andy Serkis would be directing Sony Pictures’ Venom 2. Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock, and now it looks like Michelle Williams will be back as well to play Anne Weying.

Williams shared the news herself during an interview with Yahoo. When asked about Venom 2, she said:

“I'm in. I’m such a fan of Andy’s, and I’m so inspired by what he’s been able to accomplish. He’s so gifted in such a specific way, and I’m very excited to learn from him and be around him.”

Serkis is still in the very early stages of developing the film and Tom Hardy is working on the script for the film with screenwriter Kelly Marcell. Serkis explained that the new story is “very much centered around their take.” But, he also said that he has some “very clear ideas about the journey I’d like to see visually and how we can take the characters into another dimension.”

It’ll be interesting to see what that journey will entail. Serkis and Hardy have been wanting to work together for years, so it makes sense that Hardy would want to bring him on board to direct the movie. This is their time to shine and show what they can do as a creative team.

It’s assumed that Woody Harrelson will be back to reprise his role of Cletus Kasady, who will eventually become Carnage. I’m curious to see how Serkis and Hardy will handle these characters moving forward. I just hope that they tell a good story in the process.
