Michelle Williams To Take on The Lead Female Role in VENOM

Michelle Williams (Manchester By the Sea) is in talks to star opposite Tom Hardy in director Ruben Fleischer's Venom movie for Sony Pictures.

According to Variety, she will take on the role of a district attorney in the film and will most likely be Hardy's love interest. There are no other details on who she might be playing, but the description points to the possibility of her playing Anne Weying. She is Eddie Brock's wife in the comics and she was a lawyer. She also later comes into contact with the symbiote and becomes She-Venom.

According to the report, the studio has been looking at several actresses for the lead female role and decided to offer it to Williams after they saw the trailer for her upcoming film All the Money in the World which was directed by Ridley Scott.

Williams will also star alongside Rix Ahmed (Rogue One), who is said to be playing "a popular movie character." Most fans speculate that it could be Carnage, but we'll have to wait and see.

There are no details on the story of the film, but the cast is coming together nicely. Williams is a great actress and she'll make a great addition to the film project.

The studio has already made it clear that this Venom film will not play a part in the MCU where Spider-Man resides. This film will stand on its own.

Venom is set to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
