Mickey Rourke Joins Dolph Lundgren in His New Action Film SECTION EIGHT

Mickey Rourke has joined the cast of the upcoming action movie Section Eight. He joins the previously cast Dolph Lundgren, Scott Adkins, Ryan Kwanten, Dermot Mulroney, and Blue October’s lead singer Justin Furstenfeld.

The movie tells the story of “a former soldier who, after avenging the murder of his family, is sprung from prison and recruited by a shadowy government agency.”

The film is being directed by Christian Sesma (Pay Dirt, The Night Crew) from an original screenplay by Chad Law (The Hit List, Black Water) and Josh Ridgway (The Sector, Howlers).

Producer Brandon Burrows of Firebrand said, “Mickey’s raw energy and unique style are such a great addition to Section Eight.” Rourke has certainly had an interesting career that is full of highs and lows. It’s also always interesting to see what kinds of films he takes on, though. I’m not expecting this one to be anything special.
