MIGHTY DUCKS Star Elden Henson Joins Marvel's DAREDEVIL
The cast for Marvel's Daredevil series seems to be coming together nicely, and today we've learned that one of the stars of The Mighty Ducks, Elden Henson, has been cast in the show. He will be joining Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent D'Onofrio, who is playing the crime boss Kingpin.
According to to The Wrap, Henson is expected to play the best friend of Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil (Cox), Foggy Nelson. Here's some information on the character thanks to Marvel:
"Franklin P. Nelson, nicknamed 'Foggy,' is the son of Rosalind 'Razor' Sharpe, a ruthless attorney who deserted her husband not long after their son was born. Nelson rarely saw his mother during his youth, instead being raised by his father and stepmother. Nevertheless, his mother's career motivated him to study pre-Law at State University, where he quickly befriended his roommate, Matt Murdock, whom he eventually followed to Columbia University and Harvard Law School. Murdock, despite his blindness, occasionally used his physical skills to protect Nelson from campus bullies. Nelson did not realize that Murdock possessed enhanced senses which he would eventually use as the costumed hero Daredevil. Nelson was temporarily placed into the witness protection program after faking his death."
Henson played Bash Brother Fulton Reed in The Mighty Ducks franchise, and went on to co-star in films such as She's All That, Cast Away, The Butterfly Effect, The Mighty, and O and was last seen in the movie Jobs. He will also be seen in the upcoming movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. Daredevil will start shooting soon in New York.
