MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS to Launch Year-Long "Darkest Hour" Event This August

It’s a dark time for Angel Grove and the world. BOOM! Studios recently announced that the next event for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic will be called “Darkest Hour” with writer Melissa Flores (The Dead Lucky), artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly), colorist Raúl Angulo (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods) serving as the creative team. “Darkest Hour” will launch with MMPR #111 and run for an entire year! That’s right, it’s a 12-month event so buckle up.

Mistress Vile has won, or so it seems, with control of the Grid and Dark Specter’s infections spreading through the universe! As if an epic battle between Vile and the Vessel wasn’t enough, the separated and stranded Rangers receive help from the last team they’d expect, but it may not be the help they were hoping for…

You’ll be able to read MMPR #111 this August at your local comic shop or wherever you like to read comics. The main cover art is courtesy of Taurin Clarke with variants available from Björn Barends, Goñi Montes, Keyla Valerio, Ariel Olivetti, and Tyler Kirkham. If nothing else, check out the incredibly creepy and stunning cover by Barends below.
