Mike Colter Joins Supernatural Drama EVIL

Good news for people who love Mike Colter and are sad about the cancellation of Luke Cage but not sad enough to watch reruns of The Good Wife! The actor has been cast in a new drama for CBS called Evil, in which he will play “David DaCosta, a Catholic priest in training, tasked by the Church to assess unexplained phenomena to see if there is a supernatural or scientific explanation."

The project will reunite him with Robert and Michelle King, who previously cast him as the equal parts suave and terrifying druglord Lemond Bishop in The Good Wife. He joins the previously cast Katja Herbers, who was in the second season of Westworld, where she [spoiler redacted].

Here is the synopsis: “Evil focuses on a skeptical female forensic psychologist (Herbers) who joins a priest-in-training (Colter) and a blue-collar contractor as they investigate supposed miracles, demonic possessions, and other extraordinary occurrences to see if there’s a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work."

Evil sounds like an interesting project, and the Kings, who will write and executive produce this one, are really really good at balancing procedural case of the week stories with longform narrative, so I will definitely check this out. Does it sound like it’s your speed?
