Mike Flanagan Wrote a Sci-Fi Horror Film For His Wife, Kate Siegel, to Direct for V/H/S/BEYOND

Shudder recently revealed the next installment of the V/H/S horror anthology franchise, V/H/S/Beyond, is in development, and they announced the list of writers and directors for the six segments of the film.

While I’ve already reported on this I wanted to write another article pointing out the fact that the filmmaker behind The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and Doctor Sleep, Mike Flanagan, wrote one of the segments of the film.

The segment he wrote is titled “Stowaway” and his wife, Kate Siegel, is set to direct it. I’m a big fan of Flanagan’s work, and while we don’t know the plot of the segment he wrote in V/H/S/Beyond, I’m excited to see how it turns out.

There will be six new “bloodcurdling tapes, placing horror at the forefront of a sci-fi-inspired hellscape.”

The film follows on the heels of the record-breaking sixth installment in the franchise, V/H/S/85, which debuted Friday, October 6, 2023 and became the most-watched exclusive film premiere of the year for Shudder and AMC+.

Flanagan’s next film is a Stephen King adaptation titled The Life of Chuck, and he is also set to write and direct a new Exorcist movie. He’s also developing an epic adaptation of King’s The Dark Tower novels.

The Shudder Original Film in association with Studio71 will released the film on October 4, 2024.
