Miles Teller Talks Working Alongside Tom Cruise and Says It's Hard to Keep Up!
Miles Teller (Whiplash, Too Old to Die Young) has been hard at work for the upcoming Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, in which he plays Bradley Bradshaw, son of Maverick’s (Tom Cruise) best friend Goose (Anthony Edwards), who tragically died in the first film. In a recent interview with thewrap, Teller talked a bit about the stunt-heavy filming schedule, and keeping up with Cruise:
“I’m certainly trying, but it is difficult. Just the volume of it. I’m sure a lot of people can do it for a couple days or a week, but can you do it month after month after month? There’s been nothing on this film that didn’t take a lot of training to accomplish.”
He went on to describe what it was like to work alongside Cruise, and to learn from him:
“I got a masterclass in how to make a movie, and Tom is always thinking of the audience. To work with someone who is so meticulous on every aspect, from the camera to the script to the character to the wardrobe to hair to makeup, literally every detail that guy is dialed in on, and anybody who works with him is fortunate.”
That’s pretty awesome. Cruise has definitely made a series of solid choices that have added up to a great film career. And to be so willing to do his own stunts and get in on the action has really added to his roles. He would definitely be a great actor for anyone starting out to learn from.
Top Gun: Maverick flies into theaters on June 26, 2020. Are you looking forward to it?
