Millie Bobby Brown Admits to Feeling A Little Bit "Insane" After Playing the Same STRANGER THINGS Character for Ten Years
Fans are finally about to see the highly anticipated conclusion to the Netflix hit series Stranger Things, which debuted back in 2016.
The cast, who we watched grow up on screen has expressed a bittersweet mixture of emotions around the ending of the series, as they each began their careers in the series, and gained some incredibly close relationships throughout its run.
While it’s mostly a sad farewell, most of the young actors have other ventures on the horizon and they are ready to move on to new projects. This includes Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the series, who says she started to doubt some of her character’s signature moves, making her feel a little “insane.”
In a recent joint interview with Brown’s co-star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will, the pair talked about the upcoming season with Jake’s Takes (via CinemaBlend).
The co-stars and friends were asked if they ever came to a point where they simply couldn’t think of a new way to do their character’s signature movements- like Eleven holding out her hand to manipulate things, or Will rubbing the back of his neck when he can feel the Upside Down meddling with the Rightside Up, and Brown revealed that filming Season 5 got her to that point, saying:
“It actually happened to me this season. I thought, ‘Do I throw a little kick? I don’t know.’ I was like, ‘Could it be a kick?’ and everyone was like, ‘Millie, you’ve gone insane, It’s been 10 years. Don’t kick.’ And I’m like, ‘But what if it is?’ They’re like, ‘Stop pitching it, it’s not working.’ So, yeah, you’re not wrong. You start to go a little bit insane.”
I bet it is weird to do the same movement over and over, especially when you’re not surrounded by the special effects that are added in later.
It might feel a little silly, but it all ends up looking very cool and believable, so it just goes to show you that the Duffer Brothers and the Stranger Things actors are right on with their instincts for telling this story.
Season 5 kicks off with 4 episodes on Thanksgiving, 3 episodes on Christmas, and the finale on New Year’s Eve.
