Millie Bobby Brown Hopes That Eleven Ends Up Losing Her Powers in STRANGER THINGS
Eleven is such a fun and fascinating character to explore. She has a very dark and complicated past and she also has some pretty crazy powers. She's definitely not a normal girl, but actress Millie Bobby Brown would like her to be.
During a recent Q&A via Variety, Brown says that she would like Eleven to lose some of her telekinetic powers. But, she does say it would have to happen under the right circumstances:
"I think Eleven should sacrifice herself in some way. That’s how I kind of want that situation to go. I want to have her really sacrifice her powers. If Eleven loses her powers, is she as powerful just as a character? I think that would be very cool. I want to build her to be a strong person without her powers…But right now it’s very about her powers and I think taking that away slowly could be cool."
I think the character would still be interesting enough without her powers because the tragic past that she has endured has made her an interesting character regardless. Her past and experiences have shaped her into who she is and so even without powers, I think she could still be a strong character. Of course, her powers do make things a bit more intriguing.
Brown went on to say she would also like to see Eleven embrace her femininity more, saying:
"I don’t think she knows how to be a girl. She’s been looking like a boy for a very long time. They thought she was a boy in season 1. I mean, some of my friends now are like, ‘The first time I saw you I thought you were a dude.'"
As the series continues, the Eleven and the other characters in the series are going to evolve. I'm excited about seeing their journey continue and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with these characters as the story continues.
What do you think about Brown's thoughts on Eleven losing her powers? Would you like to see the series eventually play with that concept?
