MINDHUNTER Star Jonathan Groff Joins THE MATRIX 4
Jonathan Groff, the actor who plays Agent Holden Ford on Netflix’s fantastic series Mindhunter, has joined the cast of director Lana Wachowski‘s The Matrix 4.
There’s no information on who Groff will be playing in the film, but Collider speculates that “it wouldn’t be a stretch to see him as a suit-clad agent given his character on Mindhunter.” Whoever he ends up playing, I’m sure he’ll be great in the role. After all, he is a solid actor.
Groff joins the previously cast Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss who will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, while Aquaman actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is taking on a lead role that could very well be a young Morpheus. Jada Pinkett Smith is also set to come back in the role of Niobe, while Jessica Henwick and Neil Patrick Harris have also been cast. Harris might end up playing the villain in the story.
Wachowski will co-write the screenplay with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. I’ve got high hopes for this new Matrix movie, and I hope the creative team ends up delivering something epic that matches the awesomeness of the first movie. That’s going to be a hard feat, though. The first Matrix movie was mind-blowing.
What do you think about Groff being cast in the film?
