MINIMAL AFFECT Looks Like a Hilarious Love Letter to Sci-Fi Games; Watch a Trailer
When I first heard about Minimal Affect, I thought it was a new cartoon. Turns out that it’s just a comical sci-fi action RPG that looks like a cartoon. This game really looks like a lot of fun with some potential for great comedy. The game comes from Toadman Studios and Sold Out and is designed to be a love letter to sci-fi. Rasmus Davidsson, the Creative Director for the game, released the following statement:
Minimal Affect is our homage to some of the greatest sci-fi RPGs, movies, and shows that we absolutely love. While the story is ridiculous, the gameplay certainly is not - this is a fully fledged action-RPG created in the art-style of adult animation you know and love. It’s a super galactic tale of space adventure, comedy, and questionable morality.
Minimal Affect will launch on PC and “most major consoles” in 2021. I’m very stoked for this game.
Warp speed into the absurd on a one of a kind journey across the Milky Way in Minimal Affect! What happens when the rag-tag crew aboard the Star Alliance Balding Eagle blasts off on their maiden journey? Well, things get scary real quick. And the team turns to… their “fearless” leader?
Minimal Affect is a story-driven space adventure with a colorful cast of characters on a quest to save the galaxy once again and get into a LOT of space alien combat. Guide your team, meet new characters, learn new skills, explore side quests and generally do everything you’d expect to do in a third-person action RPG, all set in a vibrant, stylish world that feels like playing a cartoon.
