MINOR PROPHETS is a New YA Mystery Novel from Jimmy Cajoleas

Jimmy Cajoleas is the author of The Good Demon and he has a new Young Adult mystery coming out next month called Minor Prophets. According to the press release, Minor Prophets is “about the way our deepest desires can be used against us and turn us into monsters.” That’s always an interesting theme in media when it’s done well. Here’s a synopsis:

Lee has always seen visions: cats that his mother promises aren’t really there, a homeless man who he’s convinced is out to get him, and three men who give him ominous warnings in the woods. His mother and his sister Murphy try to keep him grounded in the real world. But when his mother dies in a car accident and her horrible husband tries to adopt them, Lee and Murphy flee to their grandmother’s ranch, which they’ve only heard about in stories. But is there a reason why their mother never brought them there? And what horrid truths lurk behind Lee’s haunting visions?

It sounds pretty run of the mill suspenseful YA, but it could be a good read. Also, it’ll probably be adapted into a movie or a series in a few years. If you’re interested in Minor Prophets, you’ll be able to purchase it on September 10 from your favorite book store.
