MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE Streaming Release Comes with a Title Change
Fans of the adrenaline-pumping Mission: Impossible franchise will be excited to hear that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is set to zipline its way onto the Paramount streaming service on Thursday, January 25th, but it comes with an interesting little change… the seventh movie in the franchise has dropped the "Part One" from its title.
I’ve seen a lot of people wondering why they would change the title, but there’s an easy explanation. They are going to change the title of the second part of the story, which is currently referred to as, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two. If they change the title for that film, the first movie doesn’t need “Part One” in the title.
These films are directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and Tom Cruise is back as secret agent Ethan Hunt, who embarks on his most dangerous mission yet: to track down a terrifying new AI entity before it ends up in the wrong hands. The cast also includes Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby.
Dead Reckoning didn’t do as well as hoped at the box office as it was released a week before Oppenheimer and Barbie were released, and those films pretty much drowned the action movie. When those two movies were released and all the “Barbenheimer” hype surrounding them, it was like everyone forgot about Mission: Impossible.
Regardless, I loved the movie and I’m excited to see how the story continues in the sequel!
