MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE Director Teases That Tom Cruise Is Training for Terrifying and Obscene Stunts in the Upcoming Sequels
One of the things that Mission: Impossible fans are looking forward to seeing in the upcoming sequels is the crazy and insane stunts that Tom Cruise is going to risk his life doing. He’s done some pretty incredible things in the previous Mission: Impossible movies, and we all knew he was going to up his game for these sequels.
Well, director Christopher McQuarrie recently opened up about the action-packed stunts that are being planned for Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8, and he teased that Cruise is in training for them and that they are terrifying. While speaking with Empire Podcast, McQuarrie said:
“He’s not going to space, nor does he need to go to space. We’ve figured out three obscene things that he’s doing that I’m terrified of, that make the helicopter chase look like tinker toys. [Tom Cruise is] training and he calls me and describes what he’s doing and I laugh and I cheer, then I hang up and I puke into a bucket. He’s training quite intensely right now.”
That helicopter chase scene was madness! So the fact that these new stunts will make that look like “tinker toys” is super exciting! I can’t even begin to guess what stunts Cruise is training for, but I can’t wait to find out and watch them!
We have no idea what the story for these upcoming sequel will entail, but Cruise will be joined by Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter), Rebecca Ferguson (Doctor Sleep), Simon Pegg (Ready Player One), Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Vanessa Kirby (Hobbs & Shaw) and Henry Czerny (Ready or Not), Shea Whigham (Joker), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War), and Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road).
Mission: Impossible 7 film will be released on July 23rd, 2021, while Mission: Impossible 8 will be released on August 5th, 2022.
