MOANA Honest Trailer: Are We Building Up To Disney's Princess AVENGERS?
I was out of the country when Moana hit theaters, but I finally caught up with it a few weeks ago. But since I was gone, I missed the whole conversation about it. I enjoyed it; the music was great (minus that crab song), the production design was excellent (that water was gorgeous), and the acting was solid from both newcomer Auli'i Cravalho and veteran Dwayne Johnson. Did you all like it?
Anyway, ScreenJunkies is here with a new Honest Trailer for the film, in which they point out that the film comments on Disney movie tropes while still actually using them. It reminds me of Deadpool in that way. (I bet no one else has compared those two movies yet.) They also point out that with Moana's water powers, it seems as if Disney might be leading up to some sort of Avengers-style princess movie...which isn't likely, but might actually be pretty cool if executed properly.
