MODERN FAMILY Renewed for 11th and Final Season

ABC’s beloved comedy series Modern Family is coming to an end next season. The series has been renewed for its 11th season, which will be the final run for the award-winning sitcom. Modern Family began in 2009, and won five consecutive Emmys for best comedy from 2010 to 2014, as well as many other awards for its stars. The 20th Century Fox show was produced by Steven Levitan (Just Shoot Me, Frasier) and Christopher Lloyd (Wings, Frasier). And just so we’re clear, this isn’t the Doc Brown Christopher Lloyd. I totally knew that, and didn’t really think that was the Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future all these years. Apparently there are two Christopher Lloyds, and they are both very talented.

I love Modern Family, and I will totally miss them. I know it’s a show that I will go back and rewatch from the beginning again someday, because the writing is just so damn funny, and the acting is just so supremely good. It’s always classy, though, when a series of any kind can go out after a nice long run that hasn’t overstayed its welcome. They have been around to tell plenty of stories, but haven’t jumped the shark. I really respect them for that.

I’m sad and excited for a great final season of Modern Family. Are you ready to let the show go, or do you wish they’d stick around a few more seasons?
