Mondo Unveils Stunning New THE LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy Poster Collection From Riccardo Federici

Mondo is diving back into Middle-earth with a fresh trilogy of posters celebrating Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings films, and these pieces are gorgeous.

Nearly twenty five years after the trilogy first hit theaters, the movies still have a massive presence in geek culture, and Mondo continues to be one of the best sources for artistic takes on iconic cinematic moments.

This time, the spotlight is on illustrator Riccardo Federici, whose dramatic style zeroes in on pivotal scenes from each of the three films.

Federici’s print for The Fellowship of the Ring captures the legendary clash between Isildur and Sauron. The image shows Isildur standing his ground as the Dark Lord towers above him, framed by the molten glow of Mount Doom moments before the One Ring is cut from Sauron’s hand. It is an intense focus on a moment that shaped the entire saga.

For The Two Towers, Federici shifts to the Ents’ assault on Isengard. The poster shows Treebeard charging into battle, raising a massive boulder as orcs scramble below. The black spike of Orthanc rises behind him. The scene highlights the Ents finally taking action after witnessing the destruction Saruman unleashed on their forest.

The Return of the King print jumps to one of the film’s most celebrated beats. Eowyn stands face to face with the Witch King right before she drives her blade into his helmet.

With so many posters trying to capture the films’ scale, this collection feels refreshing by focusing on tight, emotionally charged confrontations. Mondo describes the series as artwork that “hones in on these singular moments.”

Each poster is sold individually for $95, and all three will be offered as timed editions. They go on sale Wednesday, December 10 at 11am CT and remain available until Friday, December 19 at 11am CT. However many fans pick up during that window determines the final edition size.

Collectors can also grab the full trilogy as a bundle for $270. If you want something a little rarer, Mondo is also offering all three sketch variant prints for $300. Buying a bundle means all posters arrive with matching edition numbers, which is a nice detail for collectors who like consistency in their sets.

Purchases will be available through Mondo’s online shop beginning December 10 at 12pm ET. The regular color editions give everyone a fair chance thanks to the timed window, but the sketch variants are only available while supplies last. If those are the ones calling your name, it might be a good idea to jump on them quickly.

For fans of The Lord of the Rings, high end art, or just beautiful fantasy illustration, this trilogy set is an awesome addition to the world of collectibles.
