Monica Bellucci In Talks to Join the Cast of BEETLEJUICE 2
Italian actress Monica Bellucci (Irreversible, Spectre, The Apartment) is in talks to join the Tim Burton-directed Beetlejuice 2, which starts shooting next month.
Bellucci will join returning cast members Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara and newcomers Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux.
Bellucci is said to be playing Beetlejuice’s wife in the story while Ortega is playing the daughter of Lydia Deetz. There’s no information on the story, but fans are curious to see what it will be!
Burton is directing from a script that written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar ( Wednesday and Smallville). The script was also worked on by Mike Vukadinovich, with earlier drafts from Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith are producing.
Composer Danny Elfman previously talked about Keaton reprising his role after all these years saying: “He's not even going to look that much different. That's the beauty of the Beetlejuice makeup. He already looked like he was 150 in the first one.'"
He added, "It's perfect, you know? Everybody else has to play the next generation, except for Michael. I mean, he's still like really fit and really active and really on it. And with the Beetlejuice makeup, I can't even imagine it's going to look like he's changed practically at all. So, I can't wait for that."
The movie will hit theaters on September 6th, 2024.
