Monolith Soft Seems to Be Working on the Next LEGEND OF ZELDA Game

It looks like the follow-up game to the fantastic Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is starting to be worked on over at Monolith Soft. This isn’t the first time Monolith Soft has worked with Nintendo, and the fact they’re working on a new Zelda game gives us a hint about the game style. Monolith Soft has worked with Nintendo on the Xenosaga and Xenoblade series as well as Breath of the Wild and Skyward Sword in the Zelda franchise, although their work on Skyward Sword was mostly contributing to the art. They were much more involved with Breath of the Wild, which was more of a sandbox game than previous entries, and with the Xenoblade games also being more open-world, my guess would be that this new game will be closer in gameplay to Breath of the Wild.

GamesRadar was first made aware of the new game being one for Zelda based on some new job listings on Monolith Soft’s site. The jobs include rigging artist, effects technical artist, map modeler and planner, and character modeler, and just look at the page. It screams Legend of Zelda with the triforce and symbols for the goddesses. Are you ready for the next big entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise? Do you want it to be open like Breath of the Wild, or should it go back to the more linear style of previous games?

Also, one user on Twitter noticed a fun Easter egg on the recruitment page.
