MOON KNIGHT Directors Tease a "Big Mind-Bending Swing" That Is Coming
The first episode of Marvel’s Moon Knight debuted last week, and for the most part, fans are freakin’ loving it! That first episode was an absolute blast, and I’m loving this crazy cool character that Oscar Isaac is playing. He’s easily one of my favorite Marvel characters.
If you enjoyed the first episode, just wait… the show gets even better and even crazier! In a recent interview with THR, directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead teased that some big things are coming explaining that episode four contains a “big, mind-bending swing that makes you reconsider some of the stuff you’ve seen.”
Moorehead added:,“Storywise Moon Knight is at its best when it’s mind-bending...the excitement of opening something up and seeing something you haven’t seen before was one of the reasons that we wanted to do this.”
Benson went on to talk about the Moon Knight comics and how the best ones are defined by “taking big swings, by being bold,” and he revealed that their biggest reference point for the episode was the 2016 comic run from Jeff Lemire and Greg Smallwood. “On some unconscious level, that’s what was oftentimes inspiring to us, visually.”
I’ve actually seen episode four of Moon Knight, and yes, that is where things take a wild unexpected direction. I’m really excited and curious to see what the fan reaction will be when the episode drops.
Moorhead also talked about their time working with Marvel on the series describing it as “a bunch of friends getting together to make something as cool as they possibly could...They’re all really smart, and they’re all just trying their absolute best to do one thing: to tell a story really well.”
