Daniel Espinosa, director of Safe House, Child 44, and Life, as well as the upcoming Jared Leto-led Morbius, is taking on a new project that is being adapted for the big screen.

The film will tell the true story of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, who in October of 2018, entered the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul to get a marriage license, and never walked out. Khashoggi had been publicly critical of the Saudi government and the crown prince, Mohammad bin Salman, and was assassinated and dismembered by agents of the Saudi government.

This was a terrible and gruesome crime, and it will be interesting to hear the details of what led up to, and what came from the horrific act.

Petter Skavlan, who wrote the Oscar-nominated 2012 sailing film Kon-Tiki and Brian De Palma’s 2019 police drama Domino, is writing the screenplay.

Is this a story you’re interested in seeing happen?
