More Areas with Non-European Influences Will Come to DUNGEONS & DRAGONS in 2020
When one thinks about Dungeons & Dragons, there’s a good chance that you think of a setting similar to medieval Europe.
In fact, Faerun in the Forgotten Realms setting is designed to be based on medieval Western Europe. However, if you want a different kind of setting for your campaign, have no fear. You can always make up your own, or you can wait for Wizards of the Coast to unveil more of the Forgotten Realms in 2020.
Nathan Stewart, D&D senior director, recently shared during a live Twitch stream that other parts of the Forgotten Realms will be influenced by non-European cultures. According to the stream, we won’t be seeing any of these new areas explored in the 2019 books, but when it does happen, we’ll be able to “explore ‘lots’ of different areas” from other cultures. I’m excited to see what they do.
