More Details about the News for DIABLO II: RESURRECTED and HADES
During E3 two big games had some exciting news shared during the Xbox showcase, but I wanted to give them a bit more of a highlight since they affect more than just Xbox players. First, Blizzard revealed that Diablo II: Resurrected will release on September 23.
The game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In addition, it was announced that a multiplayer open beta will be happening in August. During this time, fans can try out the Amazon, Barbarian, Druid, Paladin, and Sorceress classes on supporting platforms.
The game will retail for $39.99 or $59.99 if you buy the Diablo Prime Evil Collection which also has Diablo III Eternal Collection, the Mephisto pet, and Hatred’s Grasp wings for Diablo III.
In Diablo II: Resurrected, the original game’s iconic 2D character models become fully realized 3D heroes who inhabit a boldly re-envisioned dark fantasy world of Sanctuary rife with rich—and often gory—detail. To take advantage of today’s modern gaming hardware, Diablo II: Resurrected supports up to 4K resolution and includes fully remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround audio*. Those who still fondly remember the ambiance of the original game’s gripping storytelling sequences can also look forward to all 27 minutes of cinematics, recreated with stunning high-fidelity visuals that faithfully reproduce the critically acclaimed originals and match the spirit of the modernized game’s graphics.
The other game to make some big waves is Hades. It was revealed that Hades is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on August 13, but there’s more to it. The hit game from Supergiant Games is also releasing on PS4 and PS5 on the same day. The game will be available digitally and is coming to Xbox Game Pass, but there’s even more to it than that. The game will run at 60fps on all of these platforms with 1080p support on Xbox One and PS4 and 4K support for the next-gen consoles. If you get the game for an older console, you’ll get a free digital upgrade to PS5 or you can use Smart Delivery to access the Series X|S version depending on which console you buy. If you like physical games, you’re in luck as Supergiant Games has teamed up with Private Division to launch physical copies for $29.99 that will include an art booklet from art director Jen Zee and a code to download the Hades soundtrack which is pretty killer. Finally, the PS5 DualSense controller will feature enhanced controller vibration and lighting.
