Morena Baccarin Talks About Her Reduced Role in DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE and Whether She Hopes to Return
Morena Baccarin is known for many roles across several genres of film and TV, but one of her best known parts is that of Deadpool’s girlfriend, Vanessa, in the antihero franchise. In the first film, she was front and center alongside Ryan Reynolds’s title character.
In the second film, she is killed, propelling Wade Wilson into a dangerous spiral, and then she was brought back to life in Deadpool & Wolverine by time travel, but her role in the film was noticeably shrunk down.
Baccarin commented on her time in the role in an interview with Variety, and discussed her hopes regarding Vanessa’s future.
“It’s been such a long journey. I can’t it’s almost 10 years since we shot the first one,” she says. “I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams that that’s what it would have turned out to be.
“We had so much fun shooting it. It was such a fun world. I hope that I get to do more of it and participate a little bit more than the last one [Deadpool & Wolverine]. But I understood that it was the bro comedy.”
I think it would be cool to see Vanessa return, but we aren’t even sure when Deadpool will be back. Stay tuned for updates on the MCU.
