MORTAL KOMBAT to Film in South Australia This Year

We have an official update about the new Mortal Kombat film. It was recently announced that the film would be shot in South Australia. This announcement came from South Australia’s Premier, Steven Marshall, via tweet:

I know many of us were hoping to hear about casting, but that’s not the case. Although, BossLogic has been doing a lot of work for Mortal Kombat 11 including reimagining celebrities as characters, and he released a picture of the press release via Instagram:

Maybe some of that art he’s been doing has clues as to who Simon McQuoid wants. Greg Russo is serving as screenwriter, and the list of producers includes James Wan. Mortal Kombat is set to begin pre-production later this month.
