MOUSE GUARD will Star Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Andy Serkis

Fox is adapting the indie comic Mouse Guard from David Peterson and it has found its leads in Thomas Brodie Sangster and Andy Serkis. Serkis will obviously play Midnight, the villainous blacksmith who betrays the Guard. Meanwhile, Brodie-Sangster will be Lieam who is one of the newest and youngest members of the Guard. Probably to little surprise, Mouse Guard is being shot with motion capture with production slated to begin in May.

Mouse Guard is a set in a medieval world and tells of an order of mice who are the sworn protectors of their realm. Enemies range from predators such as foxes and eagles to other rodents. A sort of Game of Thrones with mice, the series from Archaia/Boom! Studios has won two Eisner Awards.

Wes Ball is set to direct the film with Stephen Christy, Joe Hartwick Jr., Matt Reeves, and Ross Richie producing the film. No release date has been given for Mouse Guard.
