Movie Theater Combatting Noisy Eating with Crunch Free Foods

It's insane how theaters have evolved in just the past ten years. I remember being pumped when my hometown got stadium seating and a faux IMAX theater! Now we have full bar service just outside, buttons to summon waiters and the ability to order a three course meal as we watch a movie! While some of us enjoy reclining and eating a steak while watching The Hateful Eight, there's a growing community who say the crunching, knife-cutting, and chewing has just gotten too noisy!

Personally, I think if you are able to hear someone chewing a sandwich over Dolby HD 7.98384 Surround Sound you probably went in there looking for a fight, but it's your prerogative to enjoy a film you paid for.  In an attempt to please both the foodies and the librarians, the Williamsburg Dine In Cinema in Brooklyn announced it will be serving "crunch free" foods to those who go to their theater.

You'll be able to get peanut butter and banana sandwiches, pork fried tator tots, and quite possibly the most disgusting thing I've ever heard of, popcorn flavored oysters. On the note of limited distractions, smelling some rank sea food might trump the noise I'm gonna hear of a fork hitting a plate.

Regardless of these changes, if you really want to see a film with limited interruptions, you should probably just go to a regular theater. It's nice to see some of these new venues making the effort, though.
