MS. MARVEL Directors Say Season 2 of the Series Is Dependent on What Happens With the Character in THE MARVELS
Ms. Marvel debuted on Disney+ last summer, and the show was billed as a limited series, but the show’s directors have since teased a possible Season 2, although we’ve never been given a definite order from Disney or Marvel. While some fans are still wondering what the future holds for the character past the upcoming movie The Marvels, the directors say it really all hinges on the film.
In a recent interview with The Playlist, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were asked about whether they’d be back for a second season, and El Arbi explained:
“No, we’re waiting for ‘The Marvels,’ so that will decide what the next step will be. So we’re very much looking forward to that. I can’t wait to see it, man. It’s great to see the trailers and to see the whole family back there and Iman Vellani doing great work, so looking forward to that.”
But whether or not Ms. Marvel gets a Season 2, it appears El Arbi and Fallah are definitely interested in working with Marvel Studios on future projects. They even have some potential franchises they’d like to take a stab at.
“Well, you know, if they ask us to come back to ‘Ms. Marvel,’ we love the universe, we love those characters, and Iman, and all of the other supporting actors there, so it would be an honor to come back and explore some more,” said El Arbi. “There is a Moroccan superhero we forgot to name that exists, so we can go there. And, you know, we love ‘Blade.’ Our buddy Yann Demange is now doing ‘Blade.’ If Yann doesn’t want to do the second movie, we’re still there. And ‘Deadpool’ – we’re always there for ‘Deadpool.’ If there’s a fourth one, we’re also game, so if they call us, we’re good.”
