The Silent Hill video game franchise is my favorite horror game franchise. I’ve enjoyed playing all of the games and it looks like there are several more in development!

VGC is reporting that Konami is restructuring its approach to premium game development. That restructure involves outsourcing the development of multiple new Silent Hill games, and those games will reportedly be revealed at some point next year.

According to the report, “multiple Silent Hill games are currently in development at various external development studios.” This is a big change and a big deal for Konami because they don’t really collaborate with external studios on projects.

A previous report was also confirmed that one of these Silent Hill projects is with a "prominent" developer based in Japan. That developer is yet to be revealed.

However, Gematsu, is reporting that Hideo Kojima is developing one of these game with Konami. We’ve been hearing this rumor for awhile now, but have yet to get any official confirmation. Kojima was working on a Silent Hills project back in 2012, but it was cancelled in 2015. Not long after that, Kojima's relationship with Konami fell apart and he left the company. Maybe he made up with them?

The report also mentioned that a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake is in active development at an external studio. There’s also a Castlevania revival in active development as well.

There are some exciting things happening over at Konami and I’m looking forward to seeing what these Silent hill games turn out to be.
