MURDER ON THE EBERRON EXPRESS Combines a Murder Mystery with DUNGEONS & DRAGONS

If you enjoy Dungeons & Dragons and murder mysteries, you’ll want to check out Murder on the Eberron Express by Orla ni Dhuill. It’s a classic murder mystery combined with the fun of D&D. In this unofficial one-shot adventure, there are eight characters and one of them is a murderer.

If your party doesn’t consist of eight adventurers, NPCs can be used to fill in the gaps. The murderer is chosen at random and so it could be anyone. This also makes it a fun adventure to replay from time to time. The one potential slight downside is that the players don’t get to 100% create their character but rather use archetypes as a skeletal frame and then they can build their character around that. This just sounds like a ton of fun, especially as a fan of mysteries.

Egan Bakker is a foundling from House Cannith, one of Khorvaire’s powerful Dragonmarked Houses, trying to make his way into their good graces. Bakker is an artificer on his way from Sharn to Fairhaven with his family and a suspicious collection of others. On the final day of travel, Bakker is shot and killed with newly invented firearm. The characters must solve the murder before they get to Fairhaven or the killer might escape, and they might be blamed by the Fairhaven guard.

Not to mention the fact that the murderer must be one of them...

You can purchase Murder on the Eberron Express for $6.95 from DMs Guild.
