MYTHIC ODYSSEYS OF THEROS Is Now Available in Physical Form
If you’re like me and prefer physical books for your tabletop RPG needs, then you should be excited if you enjoy Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. The physical book for Mythic Odysseys of Theros recently released, and it’s great! Wizards of the Coast was kind enough to send me a copy, and I’m glad. There’s a whole new world based on Greek mythology to explore with new races and a couple of new subclasses as well.
Personally, I’m pumped for the addition of Leonin as a race. In MTG, I love Ajani, and they just look awesome. I would love to make a Leonin Barbarian some time. They get +2 Constitution and +1 Strength, plus they can frighten enemies with their mighty roar. The other new race introduced are Satyrs. Satyrs get a +2 to Charisma and +1 to Dexterity along with resistance to magic! That’s pretty awesome.
The new subclasses include the Bard’s College of Eloquence and the Paladin’s Oath of Glory. The College of Eloquence is all about using your public speaking skills to help your allies and at level 14 you can boost a creature after another uses the Bardic Inspiration dice. Meanwhile, the Oath of Glory Paladins aim to become renown as heroes based on their deeds. At level 20, they can choose to make one attack hit after seeing that it misses.
Other cool things available through Mythic Odysseys of Theros include Supernatural Gifts that provide some kind of bonus and the piety score. Before this book, one thing that bugged me was that gods didn’t really do anything specific for their patrons, but the new piety scores can provide benefits to characters based on the god they worship.
If you enjoy D&D, Greek mythology, and/or MTG, you’ll probably greatly enjoy Mythic Odysseys of Theros.
