Naomi Watts Stars in Trailer for Edge of Your Seat Drama THE DESPERATE HOUR

A new trailer and poster have been released for the dramatic thriller The Desperate Hour starring Oscar nominee Naomi Watts (21 Grams, The Impossible) as a mother who goes out for a run, and discovers that her teenaged son who she left at home has been taken hostage. Watts is joined in the cast by Colton Gobbo and Sierra Maltby. The film was directed by Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Saint, The Bone Collector), from a screenplay written by Chris Sparling (ATM, Mercy, Greenland).

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Unfolding in real time, The Desperate Hour is a "riveting and pulse pounding" thriller by award-winning director Phillip Noyce. Recently widowed mother Amy Carr (Naomi Watts) is doing her best to restore normalcy to the lives of her young daughter and teenage son in their small town. As she's on a jog in the woods, she finds her town thrown into chaos as a shooting takes place at her son's school. Miles away, on foot in the dense forest, Amy desperately races against time to save her son.

This looks like it could be a solid thriller. I like a movie that races against the clock. Although I do have to say that this is just another story that shows the dangers of jogging, especially as a woman.

Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch The Desperate Hour in select US theaters and on VOD starting February 25th.
