NARCOS Star Boyd Holbrook in Talks to Star in Shane Black's THE PREDATOR

Benicio Del Toro was in talks to star in Shane Black's upcoming film The Predator, but in a recent report from THR, the actor has fallen out of negotiations. It looks like the main reason things didn't work out was because of scheduling conflicts. Twentieth Century Fox didn't waste any time on choosing his replacement.

The studio is currently in talks with Boyd Holbrook, one of the stars of Netflix's fantastic series Narcos, to take on the lead role. He's also playing the villain in the studio's upcoming film Logan. Holbrook may not be as big of an actor as Del Toro, and because of that, "Fox is planning on beefing up the supporting cast." From what I've seen of Holbrook in Narcos, he's definitely a talented actor who will most likely end up being great in the role.

There aren't a lot of details on the film yet. We know that film's main character will be named Quinn Mackenna and that the story will take place about thirty years after the events of the original film, which makes the film a sequel. There are no details on the plot at this time, though.

Black wrote the treatment for The Predator and his Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker is writing the screenplay. They are looking to start shooting the film in February 2017, and I can't wait to see how it turns out! I'm pretty excited about this film project.
