Nashville Is Building a '60s Retro Indoor Drive In

It's a logical contradiction...and not a bad idea!. Slashfilm says Nashville, Tennessee is planning the world's first "Indoor Drive-In" that will blast you back to the '60s. Patrons will enter the indoor facility and purchase tickets to a film. They'll then be ushered to their seats, which will be repurposed classic cars from the era! Around you, you'll see fireflies, old housing, live music, bars and trees which will all simulate the experience that you are outside watching a film at the drive-in. It's one of those weird experiences within an experience where there will be simulated noise and stars above the domed facility. It actually sounds pretty awesome!

At first, I thought this was going to be where people would drive their cars into a dome and watch a film without having to worry about sunlight. I was like "uh, that's great until people die from carbon monoxide poisoning," even though I'd have to think that dome would be big enough to prevent any real disaster. The project has no timetable for completion, but if it's successful you can bet we're going to see more locations popping up around the world!
