Natalie Portman to Play Jacqueline Kennedy in Darren Aronofsky-Produced Drama
Natalie Portman will be reteaming with Darren Aronofsky for a new film project he is producing called Jackie. Portman will take on the role of Jackie Kennedy, and the story will focus on the first four days of the former First Lady's life after her husband, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated.
This is a story that we haven’t heard much about, and it's the first time it will be told on the big screen. It was during this time that the nation rallied behind her.
Wild Bunch’s Vincent Maraval talked briefly about the story, saying, “Jackie talks about the days when Jackie Kennedy becomes an icon but has lost everything.” There’s a great article from Vanity Fair that you should read that goes into depth on what Jackie went through after her husband was killed.
Jackie will be directed by Pablo Larrain (No), and it goes into production at the end of 2015.
