Natalie Portman Wants To Make a V FOR VENDETTA Sequel
Not only do the fans of the film V For Vendetta want a sequel, but so does the star of the movie! V For Vendetta was one of my favorite movies released in 2005. It was just such a well-made film and Natalie Portman gave an insanely great performance! Turns out, she would like to reprise her role in a sequel one day.
During a recent Q&A hosted by BuzzFeed, Portman was asked which of her films she'd love to make a sequel to, and that's when the actress said, "Maybe V for Vendetta."
She doesn't go into any detail. It's just a straightforward and simple answer, but it's something that fans would love to see happen! The fact that she's open to it is definitely a plus so now the studio just needs to get the wheels in motion and make it happen.
Last year, there was a report that a V For Vendetta series was being developed, but we haven't heard anything about that since it was first announced. I was actually looking forward to the series because it would have been able to dive more into the details and characters of the story.
In case you need a reminder of the story, here ya go:
Following world war, London is a police state occupied by a fascist government, and a vigilante known only as V uses terrorist tactics to fight the oppressors of the world in which he now lives. When V saves a young woman named Evey from the secret police, he discovers an ally in his fight against England's oppressors.
A new movie would definitely be relevant for today's audiences. A sequel could center on the evolution of the character Evey. I'd love to catch up with her and see what she ended up becoming and the direction the world went after the end of the first film.
Would you want to see Natalie Portman come back for a V For Vendetta sequel?
