NBC Announces Season 2 Renewal for Their Hospital Comedy ST. DENIS MEDICAL
NBC has renewed their hospital-set sitcom, St. Denis Medical, for a second season before the end of its first season run. The show is one of NBC’s most-watched programs of the 2024-2025 season, with 21.4 million total viewers to date.
Starring Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper and Kaliko Kauahi, St. Denis Medical is a mockumentary set at an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital. In a format similar to The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Abbott Elementary, the series follows dedicated doctors and nurses as they balance treating patients with maintaining their own sanity.
The show is up for two Critics Choice Awards, for best comedy series and best actor in a comedy series for Grier, who is also nominated for an NAACP Image Award.
St. Denis Medical is currently airing its first season, with episodes launching Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC and the next day on Peacock. It’s a light and funny show that I’m glad to see continue. Have you been watching?
